Christopher “Chris” Smith is a Founding Partner and Tax Director at Brandywine Oak. As a Certified Public Accountant, Chris provides tax preparation, planning, and advisory services to individuals, businesses, estates, and trusts. His work includes reviewing tax returns, advising clients on complex tax matters, and identifying strategies that may reduce current and future tax liabilities.

Chris particularly enjoys working with small business owners, professional service firms, real estate owners, and families navigating estate and trust matters. He approaches each engagement with the understanding that taxes are personal and that a tax return often tells an important story about an individual, family, or business. He finds it especially rewarding to develop creative solutions to complicated tax problems and uncover tax-saving opportunities for both new and longtime clients.

Chris earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree from Villanova University, along with an Estate Planning Certificate. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Outside of the office, Chris is deeply involved in his community. He is passionate about STEM education and robotics through BrandywineBOTS, where he serves as treasurer, and he also serves as treasurer of PAEats. Chris enjoys board games, weightlifting, poker, traveling, and cruising with friends and family. He is especially proud of his wife and children, and his ideal weekend includes spending time at the shore and playing games with his family.
